Business principles

Quick – we hold a good level of stock, our aim being to process orders within a day of their receipt. Weight permitting, we despatch by Royal Mail using their First Class service otherwise by Parcel Force or other carrier offering a 24 hour delivery service. Orders from outside the UK will be dispatched by air mail.

Easy – we accept orders by e-shopping, letter (with or without an order form), by phone (leave on our answer machine if we’re unable to take your call), by fax, by email and, for pre-registered customers, by text message.

Courteous – if requested we return your call left on our answer machine at a time convenient to you (providing you tell us when to phone back and you’ve left your number). We will inform you immediately of any difficulties we may have in processing your order so you have the option to cancel your order or wait.

Fair – we’re happy to buy back any clean unused books should you change your mind after having received them, refunding you at the price you paid for them plus the cost incurred in getting them back to us. Check out the details of our Returns Policy.

Once a good trading history has been experienced we may be happy to invoice you. For payments sent with order we will not bank your cheque for at least five business days after despatch of your order thereby giving you the opportunity to phone us to say, “I’m returning the books; don’t cash my cheque.”
